John 15:5-17 (NLT)”Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.
But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples.
This brings great glory to my Father. “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.
When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.
I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.
You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
This is my command: Love each other.“

1 Peter 2:8-9 (NLT)And, “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

To the world, a city represents the center of commerce, power, human strength, and man's accomplishments. We have global cities, smart cities, and sustainable cities. A city is a human settlement of a notable size.
The city is the world of man: his creation (made in his image) and his pride because it reflects his culture and his civilization.
In the Bible the church is called the "city of God."
Man’s desire is to have a house. God says, “you are a city”. A house is for your family. A city is for many families.
Man's desire is to build a business. A business can take care of your family. God says, “you are a city”. A city is made up of many businesses.
Think bigger!
AG: You can feed your family but only I can feed the multitude.
Matthew 5:14-16 (NLT)“You are the light of the world—like a CITY on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

You are a CITY.
You are elevated.
You are put on display.
You are purposeful: so that everyone will praise your Heavenly Father.
You shine like an example to the world.
Hebrews 11:10 (NLT)Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a CITY designed and built by God.
A hill is somewhat better for defense and for spotting approaching armies.
Isaiah 21:6-7 (NLT)”Meanwhile, the Lord said to me, “Put a watchman on the city wall. Let him shout out what he sees. He should look for chariots drawn by pairs of horses, and for riders on donkeys and camels. Let the watchman be fully alert.”

A hill often has breezes that clear out stagnant air.

God is turning them into a City for His glory.
